Default 3184 hydraulics work, but tractor won't move

I was plowing snow with my 3184 today, I started to notice a clunk going from forward to reverse, then something snapped, all the hydraulics are working as they should, I was able to push the tractor back into the garage so nothing is locked up, I jacked up the rear and the wheels spin like they should so I don't think it's in the diff. Looking some help where to start looking for the problem, thanks

Just a guess: Roll pin sheared. They don't always come out.

3184's don't have spirol pins. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but If I had to bet, I'm guessing that you have broken bolts in the diff where the bull gear is bolted to the diff. Get in contact with Oak, he is our resident 3000 series guy.

If you look @ parts tree, #16 is the infamous bolts that go through bull gear #22
and hold things together, they are known to break/bend.
If you do a search here, there are several ppl that have had the same problem, and their adventures, some good, some not so good.
Now we might be totally wrong on your problem and I hope we are!
Good luck!!

Thanks for the quick replies, I took the rear fenders off hoping to see something obvious like broken linkage or something, everything looks normal, I started it up again and now it will creep forward real slow but no reverse, when I jack it up and hold one wheel and push the forward and reverse pedal the opposite wheel spins just like it should. It seems like I have to pull the differential and inspect it

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
