Default Now, This Is An Owners Manual!!

I traded for an Ariens GT-18, mostly for the 18HP Kohler Magnum and the four Carlisle lug tires.

I figured I would research it a little, and found a PDF of the owners manual.

WOW, this is an unbelievable manual!!

http://apache.ariens.com/manuals/000127A.pdf

If somebody gets real bored, I think you could write a manual like this for the Cub Cadets and they would sell for $50.

I especially like the details of the tractor located on page 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3.

That is incredible info to have when building an "attachment"

The wiring drawings even include highlighted illustrations showing the functions of the various subsets of the electrical system.

There is lots of info in the manual that can help educate you on repair of many type of tractors.

It is a good rainy day read!!

Owners manuals and Service Manuals (Repair Manuals) are two different animals. Owners Manuals are targeted for the End User on the operation of the Equipment. While the Service or Repair Manual is targeted for the Service Professional in servicing said equipment.

Your reference is for a Service Manual from July of 1990. MTD or Cub Cadet had extensive manual of that time frame also.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
