exhaust stack
Here is my homemade stack on the 128 I felt the need as I was getting to many fumes on long drives. My header pipe doesn't want to turn and is pitted rust , so for now I am gust going to leave it alone . I took a auto parts 65 degree bend 2 1/8 exhaust pipe and cut a 1 1/8 inch hole in one end to slip over the header and tack the two together , a freeze plug fits up the pipe and tack weld it to close up the open end . I bolt it to the head plate the same as the original muffler using a blind nut welded atop 2 nuts . Now just have to make the bend then go up which I welded a 90 yes a curved bend would be better think of 2- 22.5 degrees bends to get better flow. I just siliconed and pop riveted a couple of conections so I can addapt a mosquito fogger by injecting insectiside into the end , after taking out the 90 bend . I have noseeam mosquitos here now man I hate those things.
The 2nd pic shows the 1inch pipe inserted on the stack to create a muffler of sorts and it works well as now I hear the valves are a little loose 128 |

Cool exhaust, but, my trees would make a quick removal of that pretty stack.
(The trees would remove the cab too) I had thought about a down exhaust, but, since I have a QL front exit muffler for the past couple months, I am convinced I will stay with the front exit, but it is not as good looking as a stack!! Good looking work!! |

I have seen regular mosquitos swarmming in the sunshine a week ago here. I have a tank sprayer I use but really need to fog them. I may have brought them here from my trips to Key Largo/ West . |

Nice work!
That's a nice pipe, tho I'd be wondering about all that weight shaking out at the end of the torque wrench/exhaust pipe....?
I went for a downswept pipe exiting below the right footrest. I got real tired of breathing exhaust, especially on a big mow job. I tried several versions before I got to this one...I did try a short stack with a top hat, but it still threw exhaust in my face and the noise of the top hat drove me crazy. Also, I take mine out in the woods pretty often, and a tall stack would last about five minutes. My friend gave me a set of Harly pipes, which I took as a challenge to make them work. This seems to do the job....the bends of the pipe enabled me to have clearance to pull the side cover but stay within the wheel base while pointing the exit the way I wanted. It also made it quieter! I did add a piece of angle iron across the frame extending out far enough to clamp the pipe to, which made it sturdier. There were a pair of friendly factory bolts already there, so I just grabbed on to them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
