Default Picture of the Week: May 29, 2016

This weeks submission is sent to us by local member Dale Merkle aka Merk. Merk comments "Here are a few pictures of my Son’s IH Cub Cadet 86. This a 4-H project 10 years ago. The tractor is now set up for pulling. The first picture is what the 86 look like when we started this project. The engine in the 86 is a modified Kohler K321 out of a Cub Cadet 1450. The 86 is using a Quiet Line wire harness. " Thanks for the submission Merk!!!

Congrats on potw, looks like a great 4-H project turned out good, I don't watch the pulling circuit, but hope that works out good for you, too!

My Son purchase a house that is a fixer upper. The tractor was parked. I consider pulling it......don't have the time right now.

Congratulations on potw! I'd put a rain cap on there, I think it would look good!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
