My 102 project
Well. This has a long way to go. I picked this 102 up cheap and it’s in pieces, already blasted and primed. So here’s the beginning. The tunnel cover needed attention, a previous owner cut the hole out for some reason. So I replaced it. This is not completed yet. I need to do some sanding and prepping before it turns yellow. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60’s here so maybe I will get it painted...

Looking good Steve. I wish people would realize they can either access the stuff they need to underneath or flip the darn thing on its side, hang it by the front axle, something other than making windows in the frame.

Thanks. I’m not very good at welding but that piece I cut from another tunnel and whittled it down to fit perfectly and I stick welded it in and knocked the slag off which revealed a nearly perfect bead that ground down smooth. I’ve never had anything come out that good.

Patch looks good! You'd think by now, someone would have made a bolt in window to fix those and still be able to access from the top. 2 of the 3 NF here have been torched.

I thought about doing that, but decided it would probably be better to just do it so it looks original.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
