Howdy , name is Stimpy found your site by accident and read some of the forum and liked the info , Live SW of Chicago ( Joliet ) I have a 1973 128 , plain tractor with a few mods ( lights tires and Pipe ) ,I bought it few years ago from a freind who needed money to Move to his new house ( with a real small yard ) ,when I got it it was in decent shape ( someone did a spray can resto on it at one time) and I have to do some fixing on it ( clean up the over spray and remove some brackets that where welded on the frame and re apply decals, and redo the dash , rebuild the PTO clutch, reline the brakes, and later rebuild the motor ( its smoking a little ) its a user as where I live I have 7acres of grass to mow , and the present unit is a crapsman 25 horse with a Kohler twin in it and it has cracked the frame and had other problems in the past ( clutch , mower deck attachments ,cheap design and over priced ) the neighbors want to use my Cadet . ain't gonna happen .

Scott fear the neighbors that want to borrow the cub! One ride is all it takes and you'll never get it back from them again.

its funny they don't want to mow the lawn with a 5 year old Crapsman with a 50 inch deck ,but they want to use my 37 year old tractor , and they say it sounds better too . I say to them "No Cub for You" ...( the line from Sienfeld ) and I had to remind them the HOA owns the crapsman , I own the Cub ..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
