Default Here is my story

I got out of the Navy last May after five years in Submarine service(4 year contract with a 1 year exstention). My father inlaw asked mt if I was interested in pulling some of his tractors. This souded fun so I began pulling a Farmall MTA and a Farmall 560. I istantly fell in love with pulling and Inernationals. After a very successful summer pulling my wife and I bought a house. When spring came we decided it was time to think about buying a lawn tractor. After researching just about everything out there my brother finally conviced me to get a cub. I bought a restored 104 with Ih weights, 42 inch deck and a blade for winter plowing. My wife was less than pleased when I came home with a 40+ year old garden tractor but she came around. I could't be more pleased though. In the right hands Cubs will outlive all of us. Long live Cubs!

Welcome to the 104 club Nate - - I'm with ya I love mine!

What was your rating and what type of sub did you serve on?

I've got a buddy that was a driver on a fast attack boat back in the '80's - he had some pretty funny (and wild) stories.

Thank you for your service,

Glad that she came around. Just keep your grass mowed so your yard looks neat as a pin. This way it will keep her happy, & more seat time for you.

Nik,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Cub Cadets Nate! You won't regret your purchase. I actually look forward to mowing my lawn now, LOL. What boat were you on and what was your rate? Just curious, I was in for 6 years starting in 1986. I was an Electrician's Mate stationed aboard the USS Dallas (SSN 700) from 1987 until I got out. Nice to see a fellow bubblehead on the forum...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
