Crank shafts
Can someone please refresh my memory to the differences between the k series engine cranks and the magnum engine crank.

the mag cranks have a 3/8 fine thread bolt holding the flywheel on. They are also nodular iron vs cast

Are you sure about that? I took the flywheel bolt out of my k301aqs and its the same as a m12,my drive cup bolted right up using the bolt from the m12 looked on the parts and believe their both 3/8 10-24 ,least on the k301 to m12 engines

your AQS was probably short blocked at some point in time.
they are a much better crank |

I do know that on the magnum cranks the pto end is larger than the k series

no, you could get them in 1, 1.5 and tapered for generator use

Ya my k301 in my 129 has the fine thread 3/8 inch flywheel bolt

if you have the 3/8 bolt its either a replacement engine or was short blocked

new cranks have had the bolt and a bushing for in the aluminum cup for about 15 - 20 yrs. now
