How do the Hydros do compared to the gear drives?

Default Pulling with the hydro

Last year I pulled with my bolens 1800 eliminator hydro and did pretty well! Never a first but a couple seconds. It's hard to compete when you have a hydro robbing you of power! It's fun when you do we'll though because no one expects you to! Lol!

Do they allow the Hydros more power to off set the loss?

Default No

Nope same horsepower restrictions as the gear shifts. No matter what I have fun doing it but a class just for hydrostatic would be nice!

Default Hydro pulling

Me and a buddy had a 149 and pulled it at one pull just for the heck of it. We pulled it with the gearshifts cause our club doesn't have a hydro class. We pulled it in the 12hp class cause we thought it had 12 horse in it. Found out later it was a 14. Even with the extra hp we still got smoked. I don't recommend it, if it was me I'd stick to gearshifts. But hey if u try it and like it have fun with it!

This 10HP will push snow with a 48" blade

better than either of the 149s' I had using a 42" blade!!

If you want power to the wheels, gear is the only way.

My hydros' must have been giving up over 6HP.

The 10HP will push 6" of snow in high gear at ANY throttle setting above idle.

And it uses WAY less gas!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
