lt42 xt2 need help with wiring harness
Lt42 around 8+ years old. It was working fine, stopped it to
dump the bags and it wouldn't restart. noticed a green and white wire dangling and not sure where on the connector they go? There are 2 open pins, 1opposite the yellow wire, and one next to it that goes nowhere. please help. thanks in advance. |

I put green dots of where the pins are located. one goes to the yellow and other one goes nowhere.

The white wire is the magneto kill wire. When you turn the key off the key switch puts ground on the yellow wire to kill the magneto and shut the engine. So it should go in the hole below the violet wire and opposite the yellow wire.
The green wire is for optional oil sentry shutdown. It will go in the hole under the red and next to the white. If you don't have oil sentry, there will be no wire opposite it. When you say "wouldn't restart", do you mean engine cranked but wouldn't fire, or do you mean engine wouldn't crank at all? |

no crank at all. not sure how those wires broke from the connector
|

just mocked up the white wire to touch the yellow, but nothing. no crank, no clicking. just the lights will flicker

Have you checked the fuse?

You said lights flicker. Assuming you mean dash lights?
That would indicate to me either bad battery or bad battery connections. Do you have a way to test the battery? Are the terminal connections of the battery clean, bright, and tight? Is the negative battery cable making a good connection to the frame, clean bright and tight? |

headlights are turning on and off while the key is turning, that's what i meant by flicker. dash says
9.6. I hooked up my noco booster to it as well. and nothing.. terminals are clean and tight. |
