Default Removing hydrostatic pump 7252
I've got one of those infamous 7000's series with a bad PTO and I'm attempting to repair it. However I'm having difficulty removing the hydrostatic pump from the front of the transmission. I've removed the four bolts that secure it to the transmission case and the bypass line off the bottom. The pump seems to slide freely on the output shaft to the PTO clutch but I'm getting very little movement on the output to the high/low selector. Looking at the parts stackup it is really difficult to see exactly how that shaft is attached. I don't want to pry too much in fear of breaking the internals to the hydro pump. My question is how exactly does the hydrostatic pump come off?

I have never had one of those apart..... but I've had a lot of tractors apart.

It may be that the shaft is stuck in the fried PTO and doesn't want to come apart.

FWIW, the only way that you will have any luck fixing it is to have Warner (I think that was who made the clutch) repair the coil for you. Fixing one of those machines is a waste of time. Poor set up, and no fix to keep it from happening again. Best thing to do is trade it off. None of them work, and even if it does they are known for that issue..... count your losses. I've already purchased another tractor, and just hoping to get the PTO working so I can get something out of it.
I don't think its stuck on the fried PTO because that's driven off the top output and that seems to slide freely. I'm having issues getting the pump disengaged from the transmission shaft, the bottom output https://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-...raction-drive/.
