Default 123 + 107 equals ?

I've begun my newest endeavor. I have always liked tbe looks of the 123 style front end and the contoured fenders of the newer tractors. So with this summers first find of the 123, and then the no compression 107 ( with tiller and qa36a blower), the thinking gears was set in motion. I will be using the 123 engine, grill shell, and modifying the hood to work with the fiberglass dash of the 107. I will be creating a "1273". Last nights work resulted in a good start on tearing down the 123.

lots of potential here....So what are you going to do with the extra parts? Build a 1027 ? And how are you going to badge it? Custom decals in this projects future! Cant wait for the updates!

You can do it! At least you are going hydro to hydro, unlike my successful 104 to 127 conversion! Stick with the newer parts in the dash tower- much better to work with than the 123. More room. Good luck!

Ever since we talked the other day your new project has been running thru my mind (what little I have, especially after "the yellow fever") I really like this concept...its not just restoration, and not just customization. Sort of a blending of the two but mostly its a whole lot of "doing it my way". I know the purists might faint...But, I LIKE IT !!

Default doin it myyyy wayyyy!

Ok, so singing ain't my strong suit. I am a skilled tradesman, machine repairman and still in awe at the resilience of these marvelous machines. After FOURTY FIVE years of accidental and intentional neglect things look like this. P.S. the water that was in there is on the floor now. After a stout cleaning, a little dressing for the tip of the cam follower, and it just begs to go back to work for decades more. Just truly amazing. I wonder if any one got fired for over engineering these things. They sure would today! Lol

Default chuggin along

My wife Linda sat with me while I got some more work done on stripping the 123 down. I'm the one in the yellow shirt, (p.s. they say the camera adds ten pounds, I think there's like five aimed at me here!). So I says, I really enjoy working on these things, she says, you really make a big mess. I think I was "in-salted", . Any who, just look at how good this trunion is! And on a seperate note, while at the Ace hardware to pick up some paint/primer, I notice Krylon has white primer and a shade called "Dover White". I really like this for the new "1273". See the difference between the Valspar rear and Dover front wheels.

Default on hold

I forgot to mention this project is going to the back burner now. The QA36A I got with the 107 is coming in the shop. I'm going to refurbished it and install it on my sisters 1250 for this coming winter. I'm a virgin with a cub snow blower, so be gentle with me as I embark on this new journey.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
