Default 2 stoke cub push mower

https://longisland.craigslist.org/gr...164266876.html

Came across this in craigslist. I have seen some talk about them here in the past. What are these really worth. First glance the price seems rather high to me. It seems to be missing the bagger which I figured would only add to collectible aspect.. WHatcha think guys

Me thinks he is a very optimistic person even if it was painted the color of grass
with a picture of bambi leaping over the moon on it.

So, Is there a following for them?? What is a fair price? 100 bucks? It like a lawnboy in many ways. I know some of them sell for a lot

I don't follow the antique/vintage market prices but some folks just have to have something and will pay anything for it as we all know.
Me,
I wouldn't give $50 for a lawnboy with IHl paint/decals,
and that is all it is.
Good thing is he can hold out of lower his price to move it.
Lew might chime in as I think he sees more Ih stuff sell/buy than we do.
Hell a few years ago an unrestored normal condition IH fridge sat in an antique store I know for 3 years with cold pop in it and she couldn't get $40 for it.
Prolly because they are HEAVY!

If it was a good, clean mower cosmetically, I'd think $50 tops for someone to have in a collection.

I believe Lawn Boy made them.

It looks to me exactly like the Lawn Boy (except color) that my Dad
had me pushing around for many years in the 70,s. I don't know what
they are worth now but I wouldn't have given a dime for it then. I do remember
it always ran even when I wished it was broke down.

I've had a couple of the Lawnboy/IH push mowers and sold them for a few hundred each. Not everyone's cup of tea but they bring a good price if in good condition.

They aren't as "rare" as people might think. The Lawn Boy mowers were built to last and they certainly do. I see them come up for sale every now and then at swap meets and they usually bring between $75-$150. In that condition, I would say it is worth between $75-$125. Some collectors want to display those next to their WF generation tractors because of the matching nose pieces.

I concur with somewhere in the $75-$150 range I paid $75 at cub arama for one that ran but did not have full decals. They are built like tanks too

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
