Compression question...
Hi Guys...Newbie here...
I have a CC 147, 14hp, K321 (I think...) that I purchased back in 1986. Used it for years and "thought" it was worn out, until I found this site. It's sitting under a tarp and I want to revive it this spring. Before I go to a lot of trouble and expense, I want to check the compression. Can anyone tell me the "normal" compression range I should be looking for to determine if the engine might need re-worked...??? Thanks !

The 14hp's have a compression release built onto the cam. It would have to be unhooked to do a compression check. There is a service manual in our tech section. Download and read it, it will walk you through. If it isn't clear, please ask questions.
