Should be a 3/8 x 1" if it is an engine mount bolt
There are/should be 4 of them. Be advised...if one or more are missing... DO NOT use bolts that are TOO long!! I'll bet they ALL, or what's left of them, are loose and one came out. The front 2 are up directly above the front axle and you will have to raise the front off the ground to access them. Check and verify they are still there and tight, Be a good time to remove the wheels as well to inspect and repack the bearings and lube the axle pivot as well |

All 4 of the engine mount bolts are there. The bolt is about 1” 3/4.

Does the bolt have IH stamped on the end?
If so, it is an original bolt. |

Check the front section of the transmission housing.
There are 8 bolts that hold it together, 4 of which are 2" long with the others being either 1-1/4 or 1-1/2, all 3/8" bolts. https://cdn.datamanager.arinet.com/i...6cbfee8/Medium N/A Screw, 3/8-16 X 1-1/4 Hex Hd Cap | Common Hardware Purchase Locally 1 Ref: N/A Screw, 3/8-16 X 1-1/2 Hex Hd Cap | Common Hardware Purchase Locally 1 Ref: N/A Screw, 3/8-16 X 2 Hex Hd Cap | Common Hardware Purchase Locally 4 Ref: N/A Screw, 3/8-16 X 1-1/4 Hex Hd Cap | Common Hardware Purchase Locally |

First thing I noticed was that the bolt is worn under the head. Hood bolt? Axel carrier bolt? A bolt that wiggled out from being lost long ago? I don't recognize the bolt head monogram.

Hmm, well the good news is I’m now familiar with every nook and cranny of my tractor. I feel like I maybe chasing a ghost. Another item to note, I changed the transmission fluid a few days prior to the vibration starting. I used super tech heavy duty tractor hydraulic and transmission fluid/Stens 120-265 transmission filter. I have no maintenance history on the tractor. It came with a old house. The fluid that came out looked descent. No goopy mess or metal flakes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
