Default Vanguard 14 hp - 18 hp Question

Hello Gentleman:
I Have A Vanguard 14hp V-Twin OHV,
I broke a pushrod. From what I understand The 14hp & 18hp are the same engine except for the carburetors, True Or False?

My question is : Can I use a 18hp head (used) and put it on a 14hp?

Thank You In Advance!

Cly

If you broke a pushrod, why are you wanting to change the head? Just curious.

I would measure up the valves and the head bolt pattern. If they are the same go for it.

Try Midwest Super Cub, pretty sure they make one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
