Gid'day,
I'm from the great white north and I just pulled an old IH Cub Cadet out of the shed and got it running. Works well, but needs cosmetic work. I joined this forum to find out more about my machine. I don't know the model, as I can't decipher the serial number. The S/N on the left side of the frame is: 2050670U584431*. Can anyone tell me what model/year it is? All I know is it has a 16hp Kohler. The body & frame has been painted at least four times (yellow, blue, green, & red) so there's no other labels visible.

Sounds like it is a 1650 but I don't have access to the kind codes at the moment.
Pics of your tractor would help too.

april of 1976 model 1650, according to the charts I have. I also livein Ontario, south of Hamilton, if that helps you for any info

Welcome, Jeff. This is THE Place for all things Cub Cadet, from the Original IH Cub, through the current MTD made machines. There is a depth of knowledge and experience here you simply cannot find anywhere else.

Default Ugly Paint, Great Tractor!
My 1650 has had several paint jobs which are all peeling and leaving it looking kinda U-G-L-Y but the thing runs like a champ - the hour meter is smashed and was left at 500 hrs. I want to find out all I can about the correct paint & decals and this winter I plan to strip it down and re-paint it the correct color. I also want to find out how a 3-point hitch works with this unit - I could really use it with a plow/disk attachment. This is a great site and I'm thankful to all the members who've helped me so far! Now it's time for a cold one!

I have a cub cadet 800, 8hp 3-speed manual gearbox, my late dad bought in 1976, it is also one of the "QuietLine" series, like your 1650.

I don't have any hydraulics or electric lift on mine, but all I have to do is check the oil, add gas, turn the key and mow.

Just think of your 1650 as a full-size Farmall that accidentally got Washed and dried on the "extra hot" laundry cycles.
