GT2544 battery strap?
I got this big fat rubber band that is identified as the battery holddown strap. Anybody know how this doofungus is supposed to be attached? The parts diagram is no help, just shows the big rubber band suspended above the battery. No idea what it connects to or how.

If memory serves correct it anchors above and behind centre of battery , then pull across top of battery and down front between battery and engine and hooks over a lip on bottom front of battery tray
That is what the square piece is for to hook over the lip Oz

Good God Gertie, I finally got it on. My, what a genius idea, a big fat rubber band stretched to it's limits to hold a battery in place! I wanna meet the guy who thought that was a good idea.
The top and bottom hooks are only about an inch or so in from the left (driver's) side of the battery. There's no possible way to get it on without removing the side panel.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
