Default Hi From Ohio

Back in 1981 i worked for a IH Dealer in Mt Vernon Ohio called Modern Power , I was there as the Cub Cadet Mechanic , I was the Cheif Cook and Bottle washer as I did it all , I was there when MTD took over the Cub Line , The First Red tractors came out then the Yellow ones in limited amounts , But anyway I got hooked on Cub Cadets way back then , I had a 105 for a few years but sold it when my Mom sold her home to the new owner , Getting another was always something I wanted to do , I bought a home in 06 with a couple acres of land so I found a Cub 16hp off ebay I was able to buy But the Briggs engine didnt last long , I bought a zero turn mower to replace it but still use the ole cub to plow out my driveway in the winter months ,, Some how the newer cubs lack the ??? the older ones did , I was looking on Ebay for a vintage Cub and a local guy had this 104 all redone so I was able to buy it , It will be show only so I hope to be able to do just that this year ,, Just saying hi to the board , :biggrin2.gif:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
