Hello - I'm a NEWBIE
Hello everyone. I am new here and I plan to be an owner of a Cub Cadet 105 within a couple of days. It will be my first Cub. I have a couple of green tractors, one of them is a 1987 John Deere 318. I have restored this tractor from the ground up. It is used primarily to haul grandchildren on the utility carrier mounted to the Ruegg 3 point hitch I installed during the restoration process.
The other tractor is my grass cutter and general workhorse, a 2003 John Deere LT 150 with gear drive. One of the grandchildren mentioned above is the reason for the purchase (I hope) of the CC 105. She is 6 1/2 and has outgrown her battery-powered John Deere. I hope to be able to use this website during the restoration of the Cub, just as I used another website whose focus is on the green tractors. I am a newly-retired police officer. Back problems and diabetic complications shortened my career to only 26 years. These tractors and their upkeep should keep me busy but broke. Wish me luck with the Cub! Tom |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
