Hi,
I just got my first Cub Cadet, 123 Hydro. My elderly neighbor had it sitting in his barn for at least the last 12 years, at least I never saw it being used. I saw it one day when I was there repairing the Craftsman lawn tractor he was using so I asked him if it was for sale he said yes so I bought it. I really didn't need it because I have 4 other GTs but didn't want to see it scraped. I got it started today after cleaning the carb. I am used to working on Onans so I don't have much knowledge on the K301 but will be willing to learn. I am a Yooper and have about 40 acres up here near a town called Watton.

Thanks

Just joking with you, I enjoy every chance I get to travel up that way. Glad to have you with us. 123's are good cubs, I dont own a hydro yet but most guys like the 123 because they are the first hydro produced.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
