Another one done!!!!!
This is my friends 2072 that I just finished painting. His Dad bought it new and he got my friend got it when his Dad passed away. If you see the holes in the rear fender, they are from the Sims cab that he has for it. I just need to put the deck on and it is ready to mow.

I really wish you didn't post those pics because now I realize how bad my 2072 looks! Seriously, very nice looking job! I got to ask, since this is a working machine, how far did you strip it down?

Seriously, I don't want to speak for everyone but I bet that there are quite few of us who have a great running cub that needs a freshen-up to look as good as it runs. Personally, I have a 2072 and a 682 that I plan to keep for a long time but just don't have the time to pull it apart, degrease and repaint, nor do I have enough room in the shed to do it. But both could stand a repaint and guys that can do what you can do are hard to find where I am. Cars yes, but garden tractors, no. So, let's see some of your work, and how far did you strip it down as J. Hall asked? Did you pull the engine and go the whole nine yards? I have working tractors not trailer queens and might be interested. Weaverama

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
