Default New Rookie on Site

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the ih/cc facination and I am HOOKED!! I bought a 78 1650 from a buddy of mine last august. Wasnt real sure what I had on my hands until i researched this site. I didnt get to play around with it much till last month and this thing is a tank. I am a firefighter in western kentucky part time and a government contractor full time. I want to find every attachment and implement to fit this thing and work it in to the dirt! I look forward to the conversations and all the help and knowledge you guys can offer me. Trust me Ill need it.

Not only will you want every implement, you'll want more Cub Cadets. There are a few Cubbers in W. Kentucky that you can trade parts with. In Sept. there is a show in Fredricktown, MO called Cubarama. I've not been to it yet, but have heard it's a fun time. You'll be able to see lots of Farmall Cubs and Cub Cadets to drool over.

Welcome!
Keith

Welcome Rookie.

The 1650 is a great tractor. I also have one and raise vegetables. I have several implements adapted for it. I also know where you might be able to get more. I have photos at my site at www.msgardens.com. This site is set up to track our progress for this year. Feel free to take a look around.

yep, im already on ebay and every site googled to contain the word cub cadet. this is worse than looking for gear at the fire house or like my wife shopping for shoes an purses. shes mad now because her shoe fund is now my cub fund. "marrige is grand, divorce is 10 grand"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
