That tiller is able to hook to a original cub??? I really like that style of tiller,no belt from the cub and its own power source.Id realy like to find one. Does it pivot on the rear of the tractor, and are you able to use a rear lift on it? Or does it mount solid? Very nice find, let us know how it works for you Jason

Re: That tiller is able to hook to a original cub???
Yes it does (the photo does not show the lift hardware). I have one of these tillers (which has not run since my childhood 50 years ago), but plan to overhaul it this summer and use on my original Cadet which is in seasonal use. |

That is cool! I wonder if anyone has ever mounted an engine to say a 1A tiller? Love to see a pic of the other side of yours.

I just bought an original from a guy in North Dakota and when I was on the phone with him he said it had a tiller and it was green and it had its own engine. He said he would throw it in with the deal. So i was going to post on here asking what it was but I think I found my answer.

Plantet Jr Tiller
Sorry, I've not read this forum since May.
I've got my tiller in the shop and disassembled at the moment, but will post pics in a few weeks after it is assembled. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
