1811 fuel pump
So I replaced my original pump with an eBay on because of rust in the original kept plugging up my carb, but now it’s giving me problems. I was wondering has anyone put an electric pump on a 1811 or any model Cub? If so how good does your set up work and what pump did you use. Thanks in advance

A lot of people that go to Electric Fuel Pumps use this one. It emulates the pressures from on the Kohler Pumps.
You simply wire it as follows: Positive Wire to the "R" terminal on the Ignition Switch (or in that circuit). Negative wire to ground. That's it.

Yeah, it's getting hard to find a good mechanical pump. I have swapped the guts from the last new China one and kept the rod/body of the OG pump w/ success.

The fuel pump is not needed on an 1811 if you keep the tank above 1/3 full……and your not ditch mowing

Reviving an old thread here. My 1811 is acting like it's fuel staved. Looking at the line from the tank, it goes to something bolted under that crossover pipe. Is that the fuel pump? I've been searching for info on the fuel filter without any luck. Ran out of time this afternoon but hoped you could help save me from digging for something that's not there. Thanks.

Here is a look at the fuel pump. If you pull the outlet side of the
pump and crank it over you should see fuel coming out. Anytime I am suspicious of things starving for fuel. I go to the beginning of the system (the tank) and clean my way forward. Thanks folks. Just getting back to this late this evening. Looking at what few photos/vids there are on this model, I see a previous owner removed the filter. I just have a straight line from the tank to the pump. I also discovered the forementioned fuel valve. It was open all the way. I think I will order the stock fuel pump, put a filter, new hoses and clamps on it and see where that gets me.
