I suspect not, a 10hp has a bore of 3.251" and the 16hp has a bore of 3.750", that's roughly 1/4" of material from the side wall. I'm not sure on the side wall thickness, but I don't think it will leave you with enough.

Kohler's are tough motors, they can take it.
But I already know that I need to change the stroke to 3.25. It can be easily bored to that. |

I'm not debating that they're tough little engine, I love working them good and hard.
The stroke is easily changed with a K301 crankshaft. You might be able to bore it out to 3.375", making it into K301, but going to 3.750" I don't think will leave you with enough cylinder wall thickness. You'll start the thing and blow the jug right off it.

The reason I said,,, depends,,, is that different castings were used to build different vintage engines,,
The 10HP engines were not all cast the same way, some were cast to allow a larger bore. SO,, your 10HP block may be able to be bored out to a different size than another 10HP,, or,, not, as we do not know what 10HP engine you are starting with,, SO,, my answer is still,,,, DEPENDS,,, |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
