Default GT2000 vs XT3 series?

How much alike or different are the XT3 vs GT2000?

I have a GT2000 that needs some new sheet metal (footplate?)
Rest of the tractor is rust free.

The XT3 looks very similar if not identical.
Would like to be able to tell my (not so helpful) dealer to order me a more recent XT part.

Bill my guess is that they are interchangeable, this is from the Cub parts site

XT3 part # 703-07910 RUNNING BOARD | *CHOOSE COLOR WHEN ORDERING*

GT2000 part # 703-07910-4021 Running Board

That said I would clean and paint what you have or pick up a used one from one of the sponsors.

They're the same Tractor, The XT3 is basically a Yellow Hooded version of the 2011 through 2015 2000 series. The Only Upgrade is that the GSX Model in the XT3 Line has a lever-operated Diff/lock, which In Turn changes the storage Insert In the left fender. It's made smaller On the XT3 GSX to accommodate the Diff/lock lever. I Bought a Post-2011 2000 Series White Hood to Put On My XT3 GSX

OK sounds like the answer is "yes" but therefore you are saying that any of the decks that fit a 2022 XT3 GSX should fit my old GT 2000?

GSX Attachment overview
42" mid-mount mower deck
50" mid-mount mower deck
54" mid-mount mower deck
60" mid-mount mower deck

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
