Many Know me, new here...
Only Cub Cadets at my house....I guess I belong here. Currently (2) 169's and a "148" plow tractor in the shed. A 129 on the way. I've owned about everything, but keep coming back to the wide frames. For My Midwest pals I will be co-hosting a plow day Near Manchester / Dyersville, Iowa the 3rd weekend in October. Details to come. I've traded parts with many of you over the years and maybe met a few here and there. So hello to all and I look forward to participating here. I've read a few threads, and I have to commend you folks on the friendly atmosphere! Rick Beem |

First try at pictures here....bear with me.
(1) 169 is pretty much untouched since I bought it late last winter. Got everything working and added weights and rear lift. (2) 169 is now torn down to bare frame. It has had a rough life. I've got a Johnson loader that's being worked on as well. The 108 is the work horse for me. It sports a "tuned" 14hp and full Midwest Super Cub 6-pin clutch set up. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
