What to look for...
Hi...
New to Cub Cadets... Im looking at a 149 to restore and add some things to if I buy it... Is there a thread somewhere here like: "What to look for when buying a vintage Cub Cadet"? Also, which is the best loader to add to these things? The one Im looking at already has the tiller... Thanks in advance for the help... Sincerely, Steve

What to look for  Depends on what your looking to spend. You can spend 100$ -300$ on a 147 and still be getting a decent deal. I would not pend more than 150$ without hearing it run and should include a deck at least. Check to make sure its at least complete and hopefully not molested. Look for one that maybe was running a few ears ago and maybe replaced by the owner with something newer.I see a lot of that. What area are ya from. Some of the guys here might point you in right direction on craigslist finds

It runs good, a little hard starting... Everything except the front headlights work including the tiller...
Its in great shape as far as I can tell... Thanks for the reply... Steve

Welcome Steve. You’re in a VERY sparse area of the US for old cadets so I’d say get on it if the price is good. 149 is a great model and with hydraulic lift and tiller. And welcome again!
