Won't go! XLT 1040
When I press the go pedel it doesn't move. It was doing fine until I got into some tall butterfly bushes. I know, it's a lawn mower not a brush hog. Any way, it did fine untill I was my last pass through. then it just stoped moving. Engine runs fine but no forward or reverse. The blades work well and the belts arre in good condition and tight. Likely I pulled or jabed something out of place. I've taken the deck off and everything looks fine but I kno't know what to look for. Any clues?

Thanks for a quick response Gary.
I just checked the owner's manual but a hydro release lever isn't shown. I don't know what one would do nor where I should look for it. |

according to CC's site it has a CVT transmission, I don't think that's a true hydrostatic....
Does it sound like the transmission is "revving"? You checked the transmission belt too? Other than that I'm pretty much clueless... Sorry...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
