onan E140H parts cross
I have a cub, er... yellow MTD 2145 ags with the onan engine. Picked it up for a trade for an old scotts. catch was the scotts ran and the 2145 didn't Needless to say 1 $40 starter solenoid and a re-wire later it runs like a champ.
my question is this: it has the onan engine E140H, does anyone have a parts cross for maintenance parts, ie spark plug, oil filter ect. Planning on doing an oil change this year and am having a pain finding onan parts, never mind how much they cost. also from what i gather any old 5w30 motor oil should be just fine in the transmission. Am i correct with this? I am well aware that the ags is NOT a hydro, but a goofy 6 speed setup and the pedals are just for the clutch pack. |

Jacks Small Engines in Maryland if I remember correctly? That place has had the best prices so far from what I have seen for Onan stuff. I have yet to order from them. But I am seriously considering it. Some of their stuff is like 25 to 35% cheaper than Cummings sells it for.

answered my own question partly,
sparkplug is a champion RL95YC, seems a little hot, but it works oil filter crossed to a napa gold 1395, or i believe a fram ph4967. i'm going with the napa one b/c i think the napa is the better filter. also interesting note, i think the plug is she same one used in the corvair air cooled engine. |

I know where there is a great corvair project sitting but the stubborn owner wont sell it, yet will never do anything with it either. Makes me sick.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
