Angry 3186 actuator

I have a new to me 3186. The actuator will not engage the pto drive. Have vacuum to actuator but no voltage to solenoid.
What do I need to check?

The red/black wire is the 12 volt + and the blue is ground at the solenoid. The red/black wire comes from the seat switch so check that. Do you have a wiring schematic for your machine?

Ok, my seat switch checks ok. Says that it is a normally closed. When seat is up it reads open, seat down reads closed.

When I jump the solenoid switch to battery and start engine actuator will engage blades.
Could the pto switch be bad, if so how do I check thay?

After trial and error I figured out that external switch has to hook up to blue wire at solenoid and through new switch and ground.
Works now.

Hi Bill.
Having problems with actuator working.
Was working great until I put mowing deck back under mower.
Vacuum is good. Seat safety switch is good.
Break switch must be good or it would not start when pressed in.
Solenoid is good also.
I installed a switch that sends a ground to blue wire on Solenoid. Actuator works than.
So I must be losing a ground somewhere.
Any ideas as to what to check next??

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
