Default LGT 1054 Slow

I have a 2012 lgt (hydro) with 112 hours on it. It's only been used for mowing no pulling. Yesterday when I mowed with it I noticed how slow it was in the level, and when I tried to go up a small incline it wouldn't go. I have checked the drive belt and it seems to be fine. I also noticed a growling sound coming from it but didn't seem unordinary as this unit had a growling sound since I bought it. Another thing I noticed is when you disengage the level on the back plate for the tranny to be in neutral or you don't disengage it the mower will still row. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. God bless.

It's out of warranty. And the closest dealer is about 50 miles. Is that something that only they could fix? Thanks. God bless.

Unless your good with hydraulics, and have a good place to work and a lot of tools.... yeah, dealer is the way to go. The rear is likely junk. Should have taken it back under warranty if it's always had a growl.

There's really not much "fixing" that can be done on these machines. Cub Cadet decided to go "throw away" like everyone else. Not like the older machines that can be repaired.

Unfortunately these Big Box Store lawn mowers are built to a price point in order to sell and the major components are for the most part not owner serviceable. That said check the linkage and belt to make sure they are operating properly. We see a lot of dissatisfied owners who thought that they bought a Cub Cadet but the reality is that MTD bought Cub many years ago and they have pretty much prostituted the good name that Cub once had. John Deere has done the same with the crap sold at Blows. I wish you the best. Your other option is to list it on Craig's list as long as it still moves on it's own.

The best advise (dealer) has been given by guys who know a lot more than I do. If you don't want to do that you could look over the drive system https://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-.../drive-system/. Check the belt for cracks and missing chunks. Check all the idlers (especially plastic ones) for bad bearings or flat spots. I think it's unlikely that you have ruined the transaxle in 112 hours mowing unless you live on the side of a mountain. Make sure all the freewheel linkage is free and has all it travel.

About the only thing you can try is drain/split the case and see if you can refill with fresh fluid... Some owners have done this with the low end ZTurns that Cub has put out... Zforce type that have the pump and motor in one unit...

If that's too detailed for you....Part it out....hopefully its not a Courage engine....

Thanks Sam. I was just wondering if the guys cub in the thread was still able to move. Do you think that might be my problem? Mine will still go, seems like when it heats up that's when it wants to slow down.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
