2182 Implement Lift & Down Stop Rod
I have a 2182 that iam rebuilding, spent most of it 450 hr life snowblowing, i removed the rear fenders, gas tank etc, noticed the implement lift and down stop rod has nothing hooked to it, clevis or what ever fell off i guess, parts tree and all the rest do not show a clear pic of the clevis, anyone out there have a real pic of the rod end, the end that attaches to the lift linkage

Hi Curt,
I just went to parts tree and looked for the latest series of 2182. I assume that yours falls in this serial number range. There is a parts listing for implement lift and down stop rod with a parts breakdown. I hope this is what you are looking for. implement lift down stop.jpg

I'm not familiar with the 2182 but this is my 1641. I think I remember the clevis pin for mine being NLA.

Well there could be a couple of reasons for the missing parts. When I bought my 1572 brand new from the dealer, I was fighting problems with the brakes and throttle control. In each case, spacers and bushings were missing from the tractor build. It wasn't until I looked at the parts list at the dealer, that I realized parts were missing. The same could be true with your 2182, that it left the factory like that. Also, if I'm not mistaken, isn't there supposed to be a nut at the end of the stop rod? Does it look like it was ever there? Maybe the previous owner was a little over zealous in adjusting the stop rod and unscrewed all the parts off of the end of it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
