Default Cub 2160 deck leveling?

Hi guys, one more question. Now that I've got my tractor working and cutting, I need to level the deck side to side. I looked through the user manual and don’t see any info on how to level it.... It is the larger 48" deck. I understand (I think) how to adjust the front with the nuts, but I don't really see adjustments on the rear adjustment bars. I must be missing something?

On one of the lift links at the rear you'll find 2 nuts that you use to raise or lower that side. Numbers 9 + 10 in this pic.

Thanks for the diagram. I don't remember it looking like that, but maybe I was just looking at the wrong side....

Level side to side first , then front to back with the front being approx 1/8th" to 1/4" lower than the rear

Is it normal that my deck is basically 'bottomed' out on the ground at the '4' position on the handle? This is with the castors and other deck wheels raised as high as they will go. If I took them off, I think the deck would go a bit lower.

What size tires do you have on the tractor? I'm wondering if someone put a set of the smaller wheels and tires on it. Some of the 2000 series had smaller tires than what came on the 2160, 2165 and 2185.

This is what should be on a 2160
Front tire: 16x6.5-8
Rear tire: 23x9.5-12

This is what should be on a 2135
Front tire: 15x6-6
Rear tire: 20x9-8

Good question. I'll double check, but I think they are the right wheels/tires. I know my 2146 definitely has smaller ones. I'll take a few pics for reference as well.

Ok, so it looks like maybe if I adjust the hangers I can get more travel out of this thing? From the figure above, part 1 has the top bolt right at the top of the slot. I haven't tried to get in there yet, but are these supposed to be adjustable within the slot? My deck is off 1" side to side. I might be able to lower the left side to get it closer, but then the wheels on my deck will be touching the ground on the highest setting.

I think it's time for you to post some pics so we can see what is going on.

You are right, I need to take some pics. I pulled the deck off to investigate last night. I was hoping that those hanger bars were adjustable, but it appears they are not.

The only other thing I can think of, is that these bars are not hooked up to anything. I do have the two springs for them that came in a box, but I don't really see how they hook up. Anyone got a pic?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
