Default Green and Yellow Parts

Morning All, I am working on a JD 165 for a lady down the road from me.
Going to need parts like Ball Joints , Battery tray kinda stuff.

Where are you all finding parts for the JD tractors.

I realize this isn't a Cub but I did have to tow the Green/ Yellow home
with my trusty 1862.

Thanks for the info. For some reason it seems a whole lot tougher
to find these parts then for the Cubs.
Having the service manual is always a game changer.
Hope you all are doing well.

I have four CC's and one JD. finding parts and information for the one JD is more time consuming than all the CC's combined. The CC community really makes the hobby fun. I feel like the forums here are more personal and feel more like family. the JD equipment in my experience has too many design changes from model to model and year to year. this makes finding parts so difficult.

Good to know I am not just slow trying to figure this out. Although I
am pretty slow.

The tractor is actually a really cool machine and has all kinds of
things about it that make me want to bring it back to life.
But after a few days of simply trying to put together part #s.
And getting pretty much, not very far. I am even fonder of my Cubs.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks a bunch Sergeant. That helps me out a bunch. I have a
feeling this will not be the last time inside this machine. Some people
even college profs can't understand regular maintenance is far
cheaper then repairs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
