Default new member Leaking trans

Good afternoon people,
I just joined the forum and own a 2012 GTX 2100 which i bought new in 2013.
It now has 425 hrs. and runs good.
I do change engine oil and filter at least once a season blade get sharpened twice a year along with cleaning the deck as much.
Changed hydro fluid and filter this summer and noticed that there was a lot of caked up dirt/oil on the trans. around the filter.
While changing the hydro fluid I noticed a piece of black RTV squeezed out between the the 2 cast iron case halves and just knocked it off now I get a good size leak ( which from what I see is the seam leaking) will go through about 6 ozs. just sitting.
Which leads me to the question, Is it worth dropping the axle and splitting the case or send it to the dealer and let them do it.
I do not have any hydraulic knowledge so that's against me.
Thanks for letting me join and look forward forward to chatting.
Regards,
Bob

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
