Why does my 782D have a lean?
I've been working on my 782D....new oil filter, fuel filter, fuel lines, air filter, light switch, PTO switch, etc. Still have to figure out why the PTO won't stay engaged (have to hold th switch in the up position) and it's not charging.
In spite of that, the tractor runs great! I do have a question...why does my tractor lean (or sag) on the right side? Here is a picture: As a bonus, here is a video of the 782D running (with other Cub content)!!

Are the tires the same size? Is the air pressure the same? It is hard to tell in the picture. From what I can tell, that is a good looking 782D.

From the picture, it looks like it isn't sitting on level ground.

Also, check and make sure all 6 of the rear transmission mounting bolts are there, and tight. Some of mine weren't, and would let the tractor sway when you would open the throttle.

It's level and the tires/pressures are the same. I'll look for missing bolts tomorrow. I LOVE the way this thing runs. I'm thinking of selling, though..... I just don't use it.

I put the rear in a Cub one time, tightened up all the bolts and noticed a lean!!
I loosened the transaxle bolts, twisted it straight, and retightened. Problem was gone!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
