Weight bracket for my 100
I've been having problems keeping the front end of my 100 on the ground while plowing. My neighbor ask me if I wanted this weight.
I told myself this would make a nice front end weight for my 100. I used one of my spare 70/100s to build the weight bracket. First thing to do was measure and cut 2 pieces of angle iron. They will bolt to the frame that holds the grill on it. Next a piece of angle iron was cut and bolted to the weight.

Next thing to do was to center the cross piece on the 2 parts that goes to the frame and drill holes.
Here is the finish weight and weight bracket: Side view: Weight on the front of my 100: This weighs 30 to 40 pounds. Can't wait till a plow day to try out.

Hey, that's really cool! I have to say, I like the look of a suitcase weight, but that looks really good on the front of the cub!

Nice job on the weight Dale. I haven't plowed enough with my 100 to need front weight but I've thought of building a front weight if for nothing more than looks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
