2004 44" ZForce, wont drive straight
Good morning. I just picked up a 2004 44" Zforce Mower. When driving with the control sticks both pushed forward the machine trails off to the right. It also feels like there is alot more "play" in the right control stick prior to it actually moving the wheels forward or backwards.
I am new to these type of mowers and my question is: 1) Is this a typical problem? 2) Is there an adjustment I can make to try and remedy it? Thank you in advance for your help. I am new to the forum and feel grateful to have found it. |

I'm not familiar with your machine, but any other machine that I have seen that operates with sticks has adjustments to even the sticks up.
Wear in linkages or something that has come loose could also be a factor.

Hate to say but that is what they are known for....Pump and motor are integral and no service can really be done to them other than dropping the lower pan and refilling through the vent...
Throw away pieces and they run about 500 to replace.... You can try adjusting the arms to get full travel and make sure the belt is not slipping on the pumps... |

Assuming that I do need the new right side transmission where do i find it. A quick search for my model number : 53AA5B6L710
Turned up this part number Cub Cadet 01008193 which says that it is no longer available. Where might I look to find them OR is that a PN of a newer model of transmission that will fit my model? |

First of all thank you for the links. Secondly am I reading correctly that people have in fact reconditioned these units bu drilling/tapping a hole in the bottom and then refilling with Motor Oil ?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
