Default Plastic gas tanks on 129-149-169
Is anyone using a plastic gas tank on a 149?

My tractor came with either a QL or 82 series gas tank. The gas cap protrudes too high and will not allow the hood to close. I thought it was worth asking if anyone made this work before I buy five different gas caps...

I have not found a replacement tank that is the right size or sturdy enough yet (have tried a couple from Ebay).


If I find one, I'm going to buy 3-4 of them and forget worrying about rust clogging up the fuel system!

Keep it full of fuel and a bit of MMO and you will not have rust issues.

I run 2 oz. per gallon of MMO in all my 60,s cubs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
