Looks great. Did you buy the motor as a retrofit kit or did you get it out of another tractor? Did you do any driveline mods?

The motor end of the driveshaft is made from off the shelf CC parts. I used a 5/8" universal joint to couple the shaft to the hydro pump. Used 1/4" spirol pins to secure the u-joint to the shaft and pump. |

Looks real nice, you must have relations in Pitts. Pa. I'm a little partial to the Ford blue's you and i have. This was the first pulling tractor we had about ten years ago. Mike

This garden tractor thing started a couple years ago when I decided I no longer wanted to shovel the occasional snow we get. I was looking for a Ford.
Nothing for sale. Posted wanted ads. Only reply I got was a guy who said "good luck; I've been looking for one too" I got impatient; a 149 showed up in the classified and I bought it. Still haven't found a Ford. No relatives in Pitt. I'm a WVU alumni. Big football rivalry back then; probably still is. I haven't followed college football since. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
