126 Mower Not Engaging
Hello all,
All has been working well and now the mower won't engage. I turned the belt tensioner nut slightly to see if the belt was loose and it didn't help. I checked my manual and the only other potential issue is the front PTO clutch. Any thoughts on where I should be looking ? |

When the PTO is engaged, does it rotate and turn the belt ??

No, when engaged the belt does not turn. When I move the PTO lever, the arm appears to engage the clutch and return normally. I have also turned the mower belt by hand and it doesn't appear to be restricted. Is it possible the belt is too tight?

Sounds like it's time for a PTO rebuild.

Try checking clearances. Look at linkage on the side to make sure that it is allowing the clutch arm to open up enough to allow the front pto clutch to spin freely. You could open it up all of the way by undoing the turnbuckle on it. If that does not engage the deck, then as Roland recommended, you will need to rebuild the PTO. If it does, then you just need to fine tune and adjust your linkage.
As a rough rule of thumb, your mule drive belt should come close to forming right angles at the front pulleys on the undercarriage. You should be able to tug on the mule drive belt and have a little flex in it, but not slop. Cub Cadet 123

Ok thank you... I have found what I believe to be the part diagram for disassembly.
Can you direct me to a list of parts that I will need to replace? |

My 108 WF has the type 1 spring on it. Does the type 2 need two springs without the bends in the end ? I see that the friction discs are a different part number. A they a different thickness or what ? |
