Tiller
I picked up tiller and two cultivators today. Looks like a #1 tiller with a 1A gear box. Does anyone sell the bearing for this gear box? The bottom shaft has side play so either the bearing needs replaced or the shaft is wore at the bearing. I will have to take it apart to find out. The tiller seems to be in very good shape but I'm worried about the gear box.

When I rebuilt my 90* gear box, I got bearings and seals at "Bearings and Drives Unlimited" http://www.bduinc.com/ since it's local to me. I brought in the old ones and they matched them up.
I will make shafts for the 90* gear boxes soon. I just need to pick up some 4140 alloy steel

Thanks Jeff, keep me posted on the shaft. I will be interested in one needed or not. That is an item that gets abuse.

Good looking implements! Tiller looks to be in good shape! Dont see many cultivators around here.

Jeff, I took the gear box apart today and I definitely need a new shaft. The short one is in good shape with no play but the long one is toasted and will need replacing. I am going to take the whole tiller apart and repaint it. So I'm not going to be using it this season, but I would like to be your first customer on a new long shaft for the bottom pully if your going to make some.
