Default Super Cub Phone Booth!

Thanks to another gracious board member I'm now the proud owner of a phone booth for my Super 1872 Cub. I'd almost have given body parts for this a couple of weeks ago. It was originally for the 82 series Cubs so the slot for the chute crank is on the wrong side and I had to take a little width off my right steering brake pedal to make it fit but these were minor issues. Still have to install a couple of front braces that shape the vinyl. The previous owner even converted the wiper to electric powered! The vinyl parts are in amazing shape considering they are almost 30 years old. Here are some pics from after I got it installed today.

I also picked up a sapre set of wheels at a different place on the way home. This way I can have a set of turfs with chains for the winter and ags for the rest of the year. These had some cool looking Cub Cadet branded tires on them in good shape. They look like they would be even better as my snow turfs than the stock Good years I'm using now. Anyone have any experience with these. How do they work in grass and other?

Lucky you on the wheel score, I need a set of Supers rears myself. Those 'Cub' tires came on the last of the Cyclopes Supers, 2284s or so IIRR.

On the phone booth.....well.....well......if you say so

That's a nice looking setup. I like your hydro lever mod.

Thanks, I was going to put a thread up about that but hadn't gotten around to it. It makes a world of difference. Now I can drive with one hand if need be. Much more comfortable position. the hydro lever on these supers is not in a comfortable place.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Scott, I have spent dozens of hours soaking wet in sub freezing weather with high winds this year keeping our road open. That cab will be worth it's weight in gold. It comes off for most of the year.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
