Default 982 Mule drive pulley spacer question

I am making up a mule drive for my 982 basically from a bare mule drive bracket. I have bought new pulleys and have all the parts except 2 maybe .25" spacers. I seem to remember that there was a spacer used up against each pulley that was appx one quarter inch wide. Could someone take a look at their mule drive that has all the parts on it and verify this and let me know which side of the pulley they are on as if you are standing in the front of a 982 looking back at the mule drive. Any wide frame mule drive should be the same from the 82 series. A diagram of the mule drive would be very helpful as I know there are some washers used with the pulleys also. Thanks to all that may respond.

Thank you Richard. This is a diagram that I remember seeing years ago but could not find anymore because I am blind now. From what I can see it does appear that there is a spacer in there beside each pulley.I robbed the parts off my 982 mule drive years ago when I was selling CC parts now I am having to buy them back. That was so stupid but I figured I would never have to use the 982 to mow grass again. This is the last year I will be able to mow as I can no longer see the line between mowed and unmowed. Thanks again,
Dave

Hey Dave, good to see you posting again. Let me know if I can help you with your project. I think there is going to be a plowday down in Greenville, SC this fall. I sure hope you can make it and I'll keep ya posted when it is.

Oh ya, I need to give you a call sometime too.

I don't see any spacers in the diagram, just the bolt, washers and nut for each pulley. I just looked at my 1512 (same as 82 series), and the right side of the middle of each pulley (looking from front of tractor) sticks out about 1/4" more than the left side. This looks kind of like a spacer, but I think its part of the pulley itself and not a separate spacer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
