Yes, there is one out there... I don't think anyone has duplicated it. I don't know what your background is, but doing this is next to impossible. Sure it can be done but it is very, VERY, VERY complicated and involved. It took the guy who did it about a year to perfect it. You would have to have all machining tools and a very good understanding of gear drives. There is no bolt on solution. In the pic, the guy build almost everything that makes it 4X4.

4 wd Cub
Often wondered about doing this. Seems like something maybe too hard for all but the most hardcore builder to tackle. Might be easier to just save the money and get a modern Cub subcompact!

Don't try at home.

I started this project, Paul Funk finished up and did great. The transmission was pretty hard even for a machinist. Look here, great write up of both of our work: http://www.cubcadetman.com/content/i...ects&Itemid=55 |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
