125 hydro damper plate
I’ve looked at our site sponsors’ websites and I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for. Is there a bushing I can buy that would slide over the stud on the hydro damper plate? I can slide a .010” feeler gauge between the cam plate slot and the damper plate stud, I just wish it were tighter. I have already put the tractor back together after servicing the trunnion plate, springs and both spring keepers. I bought some shims and Teflon cam bushing to tighten it up best I could. I got everything from CCS.

I'm not aware of anything. When they designed and manufactured the Cub those tolerances were needed to work without jam. I'm sure its worn just a bit. I also ordered, from Charlie shims, and added where I thought I could help. Those are two pretty hefty pieces of steel, I'm sure Cub engineering had wear in mind 50 years ago. They did a great job I.M.O. If you hit the outer edge of that mechanism with a file, you will figure that's some quality. I think you're good to go! I also have an 125 and enjoy it, and the learning curve of splitting it and tightening and rebuilding the trunion, don't forget the cork gasket. L.O.L

Mine isn’t leaking at the moment, it’s possible someone way before me changed it. I had to split my 125 to change both springs on the trunnion and the keepers. I learned that the brake pedal must be 100% retracted, or it adversely affects trunnion range of motion.

I don't think .010" clearance on that mechanism would be much more than normal. Grease and go.

Can I use aerosol white lithium grease? Or would it be better to put a dab of wheel bearing grease on it?

Either one will work, remember grease attracts dust, dirt, dry grass etc.Sometimes less is better. My thought,is off season my 125 is always blew off, garaged. On jack stands, I move all my linkages, keep them free.I once had choke cable stick, that can be a tough one.Learned my lesson, little bit pre maintenance, I'm ready to go

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
