Fuel pump question
I see alot of pullers using Holley fuel pumps for pulling. At what HP rating do you need to install a fuel pump?

I dont know about HP rating. I would rather think it would be a fuel consumption issue more than anything or maybe it is because the fuel tanks are located below the level of the carb and gas has to be pumped to it.

on the dyno my motor is putting out about 23 HP with the mods I have done to it. (all dynos are diffrent this one is actually set up for kart racing motors). I use methanol and I run about 3 PSI. With the same setup with the little mr gasket pump it would starve for fuel at top end when the front end is up.
Now it may over pressure during long ldles but once I get going it never has a shortage of fuel. It has made my pull way more consistant. I still run in the 12 HP stock class. (per our rules) But if yo do go with a bigger fuel pump I would reccomend putting a float helper spring and a solid brass needle and seat. The rubber tips would always rip on mine. It does take a little bit for the brass seat to seat so you may or may not see some leaks from it for a while. To stop the leaking I took some toothpaste and used it like a lapping compund and spun it around for a few minutes. Just clean it well... And maybe run the float height for a little lower fuel level..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
