Default My Uncles old tractor

Well today I stopped by my grandpas house, just visiting. We somehow got on the topic of old garden tractors and he told me about my uncles old allis chalmers 716h. My uncle had passed away a couple years ago and the tractor was left to my grandpa. So he was showing it to me i asked if he'd sell it. He told me the tractor had a snowblower and blade along with the 48" deck. He asked if 350 sounded good. I told him that a soon as i could get the money I'd come to get it. After leaving I did some research and found out it had 16hp kohler. So what are yours guys thoughts? Ithink it would look good next to my cub cadet 100. And it'll have some senimental value as well.

I think that would be a great addition. I tend to be sentimental too, so the fact it was in the family would mean a lot to me also. Hope to see some pics of it soon.

Someone in the local tractor/truck club has an old allis mower that is pretty straight and clean. I will see it at the spring show and find out what size it is. Wasn't into the GTs last time I saw it. I liked the way it looked though, even if it was orange, at least it wasn't green.

Well i finally got around to picking the allis chalmers up.As i stated in the original post, this used to belong to my uncle but he has since passed away and it was left to my grandparents. they have been selling off some of his things to make room around there place. Back in April i saw this AC 716H and wanted it! i paid 350 for everything that he had for it including 48in deck, 42in Snowblower and a Snowblade. it has a 16hp kohler with the optional electric lift. After getting it home i put a new battery in it and it had a good spark and great compression, but wasn't getting fuel. So this weekend i plan to tear the carb apart and see what's going on inside.

Check the fuel tank and lines before you get to the carb. If you do the carb first, and it gets more dirt, you would have to do it again! Hate to see that happen.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
